Things to do in June!

The Apia Good Times Tour – Thursday 1 June

Aussie legends The Black Sorrows with Vika + Linda Bull, Colin Hay (Men at Work), Mental as Anything and Deborah Conway are coming to the Empire Theatre this Thursday night. Tickets are $89.90 or $59.90. Get them here.

Art Gallery: Skoob – Sunday 4 June

The Toowoomba Art Society will host an official opening of the Skoob exhibition by the Creative Artists Book Group at 1.30pm. There’s also an exhibit by Susanne Wood on display until 2 July. Find out more on Facebook.

Queensland Day celebrations – Sunday 4 June

Celebrate being a #queenslander at the Library Precinct. There will be markets on from 8am to 1pm and entertainment like children’s rides, sausage sizzle, music and more from 9am to noon. There is more info on Council’s Facebook page.

Dine Down Town – Friday 9 June

Winter street food is on offer at this month’s Dine Down Town! This includes pies, soup and curry – get your stretchy trackies out of storage and get out and about. It’s at St Luke’s and entry is $2 per person.

Jazz and Shiraz at Preston Peak Winery – Sunday 11 June 

From 12 noon relax on the grounds at Preston Peak, and be entertained by the Cool Nights Big Band. There are three dining options on offer – a sit down lunch, a picnic and a pay as you go supper station. Find out more at prestionpeakfunctions.com.au

State of Origin Game II – Wednesday 21 June

You can find this on a few screens around the place including the Blue Mountain Hotel, Fitzy’s, Wilsonton Hotel, The Southern Hotel and Muller Bros.

Empire Theatre Open Day – Sunday 25 June

A fun day out to be had at the Empire Theatre’s open day. There will be music, dance, food trucks and drinks. Free entry to an Army Band performance and swing set – but you have to book $10 entry to Erths Puppet Making Workshop. See more at empiretheatre.com.au

Melbourne Comedy Roadshow – Thursday 29 June 

If you like a laugh grab your tickets to the Melbourne Comedy Roadshow at the Empire Theatre now. Toowoomba’s own Damien Power will be there as will Adam Hess, Matt Stewart and MC Dave Callan. Tickets are $38, get them here.

Friday at the Flicks: To Sir with Love – Friday 30 June

USQ Artsworx is bringing the Sidney Poitier with the classic flick, To Sir With Love. Starts at 6.30pm, $15.50 general admission, includes drinks, nibbles and chats after the film.

Snowflakes in Stanthorpe – Friday 30 June to Sunday 2 July

Highfields Village Markets – Saturday 10 June from 12pm to 5pm
Queens Park Markets – Sunday 18 June from 8am to 1pm
Toowoomba Farmers’ Markets – Every Saturday from 8am to 2pm
